Brookside Church Strengthens Network and Surveillance Infrastructure with Scalable Ubiquiti Deployment
Fort Wayne, IN – [06.06.2025] – Brookside Church has completed a major upgrade to its campus-wide network and surveillance infrastructure in partnership with Atom Integration. The project improves performance, organization, and scalability across the church's entire facility, providing a future-ready backbone for both day-to-day operations and long-term growth.
Atom Integration was responsible for designing the system, installing and outfitting all network racks, terminating fiber and Cat6 lines, and programming the entire UniFi network and security platform. Brookside’s capable volunteer team worked closely with Atom throughout the process, pulling all structured cabling and mounting 20 wireless access points and over 90 security cameras throughout the building.
The network infrastructure is built on Ubiquiti’s UniFi platform, anchored by a USW-Pro Aggregation switch and multiple Enterprise 48 PoE switches connected via fiber uplinks. Atom outfitted the main distribution rack in the MDF with patch panels, UPS systems, fiber trays, and thorough cable management. A second wall-mounted rack was installed and configured in the IDF on the opposite side of the facility, providing a clean and serviceable hub for network distribution in that zone.
A major highlight of the project was the deployment of Ubiquiti’s new Enterprise NVR (ENVR), outfitted with 8x 16TB hard drives. This storage configuration supports continuous recording across the entire camera system, offering Brookside both high reliability and long retention for archived footage.
The UniFi Protect system includes a wide mix of turret, dome, 360° fisheye, and AI-enhanced cameras, all fully integrated into the ENVR platform and accessible through a unified interface for real-time monitoring and playback.
With a strong backbone now in place, the system is designed to support future expansion—including additional fiber runs to the Worship Center for Dante audio networking. This upgrade not only enhances current connectivity and security, but also positions Brookside for continued growth and evolving technical needs.
